      • arrived in port of New York, NY March 5, 1855. We are still looking for a passenger list arriving in New York on this date.
      • married Mary RAFTERY in 1858.
      • Took his oath of naturalization, October 5, 1860
      • October 20, 1879 received citizenship
        • Thomas Callahan and Thomas Hillery were witnesses
      • Thomas Lawless helped start the Catholic Church in Rutland, MA named St. Patrick's Parish.
      • Thomas Lawless died January 12, 1888.
        • Their son, William Edward Lawless was a Senator for Maine. Resided in Auburn and Lewiston, ME.
      • All information on Thomas Lawless is from Jane E., Thomas Lawless' great-great granddaughter.

LAWLESS listed in Search for Missing Friends
Of Martin LAWLESS, parish of Kiltolla, county Galway, who left Waltham, Ms. in December last intending to go to Maryland. Any information respecting him will be thankfully received by his brother, Thomas LAWLESS, care of Michael Broderick, Waltham. Ms (probably Ms is Massachusetts not Mississippi)

Genealogy of The LAWLESS Family and Connecting Families by Mrs. Daniel E. LAWLESS (Betty McEnelly), published 1976, US/CAN 929.273, L424a is in the LDS-SLC-FHC library. I did not find Malowney/Maloney connections in this book. The author's oldest granddaughter emailed 7/19/2006 and she the author died about 1996.
