    • Innis, County Clare - went to public library - great local history collection
Innis, County Clare - went to public library - great local history collection
  • 16 March
    • - National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway branch Library - found books on:

Mount Bellow (where my Peter Garrity was born 1863-1915)
      Moylough
a book titled Moylough - Mount Bellow that was a Ph.D. dissertation about the
       place pre-1600

another book post 1600 - several pages on DUGGAN - if the book is correct my ancestors include Peter Doogan who was on land in 1855 that passed on Edward and Bridget Geraghty. I know that Edward and Bridget Geraghty are my ancestors. It makes sense that this 'Peter Doogan' is her father but maybe he was an uncle, another relative, or unrelated? Since they named a child Peter (1863-1915) he was probably named for Peter Doogan.

      evening in Galway

spent two nights at www.sleepzone.ie 's new Connemara hostel - Kilary Lodge near LeeAnn - huge place and only four guests

Took train (adjacent to airport) to Macclesfield. 22 Feb - left car in Trenton, NJ, took commuter train to Philadelphia airport, flew to Manchester, England arrived 8:05 am.m.. • 26 Feb - Saturday
    - tourism office to get oriented
    - strolled around the colorful shops
    - called all the Maloney's in the phonebook for Menlough - Martin Maloney asked if my John Malowney (1816-1911) was born in Menlough two miles East of Galway City or twenty miles East. I later found five listings for Menlough in Galway County in Lewis' Topographic Dictionary - 2 adjacent about 2 miles east, 3 adjacent about 20 miles east. My John's father was Isaac according to John's death certificate. And John and Denis (whom we believe was his brother) named their oldest sons Isaac.
  • Found an Isaac Mollowney in Griffith's in Menlough Outer in 1855. Denis Maloney in 1855 in adjacent Knockavilla is Martin Maloney's ancestor.
