Based on the 1880 census above, the Donahue family moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio between 1856 and 1858. Also it is possible that Martin Donahue could have served in the Civil War.

Martin DONAHUE and Bridget DEVANEY (Georgeann's ancestors) are listed as the parents of "KATHERINE KEARNS" who married JAMES KEARNS James was born in 1848 in Ireland, died at 72 years of age on March 20, 1920, buried Calvary Cemetery, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. Perhaps her parents arrived in New York, living there a while, before moving to PA then Ohio? It is likely that her first name was spelled wrong since her granddaughter Catherine was named after her in 1920. Kitty's notes list a brother for Catherine DONAHUE, First name unclear- Ritnor ? J. DONAHUE b. 1896 d. 1918 - but the dates don't seem right, since he would be more than 50 years younger than his sister.
Katherine KEARNS' death certificate, Volume Number 3002;
Certificate number 36919 lists:
birthplace: PA conflicts with "New York" on her son's Michael Patrick
KEARNS' death certificate
birthdate: about 1844 age "about 75" on 30 Jun 1919, date of death
burial: Calvary Cemetery, on 3 Jul 1919
husband: James KEARNS
father: Martin DONAHUE, born Ireland
mother: Bridget DEVANEY, born Ireland
informant/address: Jas (James) KEARNS, 518 Home View Avenue, Springfield, Ohio. (same
residence as deceased)
It is possible that the informant was her step-son James KEARNS, as her husband (or
ex-husband?) died 20 Mar 1920, and could have been in poor health?
I have no information regarding marriage or divorce dates for James
KEARNS.

No reason to believe that the "Martin DONAHUE" below is Katherine's father, but if she was born in the US in 1844, it is likely he was in the US Civil War.
